Ethiopia switches on dedicated direct TV platform

The Association of Ethiopian Broadcasters (AEB) and the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) have launched the first dedicated Ethiopian TV platform to host local channels.

The platform, struck as part of a deal with satellite provider SES, will deliver over 30 channels for Ethiopian audiences only, 12 of which will run in HD.

Ethiosat will be hosted on SES’s NSS-12 satellite at 57 degrees East. It will be made available direct-to-home though local viewers will need to adjust the position of their antenna.Read More

EUTELSAT PARTNERS WITH ETHIOPIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION AND THE ASSOCIATION OF ETHIOPIAN BROADCASTERS FOR VIDEO CAPACITY ON EUTELSAT 8 WEST B

Paris, 12 February 2019 – Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) has signed simultaneous multi-year contracts with the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation and the Association of Ethiopian Broadcasters for video capacity on its EUTELSAT 8 West B satellite.
